1,000 Posts Later: Building a Crystal Healing Business That Feels Like Me
I can hardly believe I’m sharing this, today I shared post 1000 on my business Instagram page.
When I started this little corner of the internet, I don’t think I ever imagined I’d reach a point where there would be 1,000 pieces of content sitting here.
What started as a way of sharing my love of crystals has grown into Crystal Healing with Vicky, a space where I share intuitive, vibrational crystal healing and create experiences for women who are looking for a little more calm, clarity, grounding and connection in their lives.
And somewhere along the way, Instagram became a little more complicated than it used to be.
Hooks. Reels. Algorithms. SEO. Content pillars.
And, of course, the eternal question:
“Will this perform?”
Sometimes I miss the old version of social media.
The one where you could take a photograph simply because you thought it was beautiful and share it because you wanted to.
No strategy. No wondering whether the first three seconds were strong enough. No trying to work out whether Instagram had decided to show your post to anyone that day.
Just sharing.
And yet, when I look back at those 999 posts, I realise they have given me something far more valuable than likes or reach.
They've given me a community.
More than crystals
Over the years, this online space has connected me with women I may never have met in person, alongside some truly wonderful female-led business owners who support, encourage and cheer each other on from afar.
It has introduced me to women who have trusted me with their stories.
Women who have come along to my crystal circles in Exmouth and Topsham.
Women who have booked bespoke crystal healing sessions.
Women who have discovered a crystal that spoke to them, joined an event, sent a message or simply quietly followed along.
Every one of those connections has become part of the story of this business.
And it has reminded me that crystal healing isn't simply about the stones themselves.
It's about the experience.
Learning that the most valuable thing I share isn't always a crystal
When you work with crystals, it would be very easy for the crystals to become the whole story.
They're beautiful. They're fascinating. They're an important part of the work I love, and I could happily spend hours talking about them.
But over time I've realised that the most valuable thing I can share isn't always the crystal in the photograph.
It's me.
Which is slightly inconvenient for someone who absolutely hates speaking to camera and having her photograph taken. 😂
But the more I allow myself to show up as myself, the more I understand why it matters.
Because you can read about crystals anywhere.
You can look at beautiful photographs of amethyst, rose quartz or blue lace agate.
You can learn about different crystals and their traditional associations.
But if you're considering booking a crystal healing session in Devon, joining a women's crystal circle in Exmouth or Topsham, or simply exploring whether crystal healing feels right for you, you're not just choosing a crystal.
You're choosing a person.
You're choosing an experience.
You're choosing somewhere you can pause for a while and explore what you need.
And that means you need to know a little bit about the person creating that space too.
The heart of my crystal healing work
The crystals may be my beautiful healing tools, but they're not the whole experience.
It's the way I work with them.
The space I create.
The intention behind each session.
The little details.
The crystals and essential oils.
The conversations.
The quiet moments.
The feeling of being able to put everything else down for a while.
That's the heart of what I do.
My approach to vibrational crystal healing is intuitive and personal. Each session is created around the person in front of me rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula.
I offer bespoke crystal healing sessions across East Devon, including sessions in Lympstone, Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton, alongside my regular crystal circles in Exmouth and Topsham.
And while the locations and offerings may continue to evolve, the intention behind them remains the same:
Rebalance. Reconnect. Restore.
Building something that feels like me
Perhaps that's why I've become less interested in creating a business that looks perfect from the outside.
I'd much rather create one that feels like me.
One that feels warm, grounded and genuine.
One where there is room to learn, change direction, try something new and occasionally post something simply because I love the photograph.
Because when someone comes to work with me, I don't want them to feel as though they've stepped into a polished, impersonal wellness brand.
I want them to feel like they've found a real person who genuinely cares about the experience she creates.
Whether that's a one-to-one crystal healing session, a women's crystal circle, an AromaTouch experience or one of the collaborative wellbeing events I've been lucky enough to create, it's the human connection that sits underneath it all.
Still learning
After 1,000 posts, I definitely don't have everything figured out.
I'm still learning.
I'm still changing my mind.
I'm still trying to understand what Instagram wants from me this week. 😂
And I'm still learning how to balance the things that make sense strategically with the things that simply feel right.
Because perhaps that's one of the biggest lessons I've learnt along the way.
Not everything needs to be perfectly planned.
Not everything needs to perform.
Not everything needs to have a carefully crafted hook.
Sometimes something can simply be beautiful.
Sometimes a post can simply be a little glimpse into my world.
And sometimes sharing something honestly is enough.
Here's to the next chapter
So, 1,000 posts later, I'm still here.
Still learning.
Still growing.
Still surrounded by more crystals than I probably need.
And still finding new ways to share what crystal healing can offer when you're ready to explore it.
I'm incredibly grateful for every woman who has found her way into this little corner of the internet.
Whether you've been here for years, discovered me yesterday, joined me at a crystal circle in Exmouth or Topsham, booked a session in East Devon, or quietly follow along without ever saying hello, you are part of this story too.
And now there's another little milestone on the horizon.
I'm currently at 906, so there are just 94 more lovely humans to find their way here.
It feels rather lovely to think about who those next 94 might be.
Because if these first 1,000 posts have taught me anything, it's that building a business isn't really about numbers.
It's about people.
It's about connection.
It's about creating something that feels authentic to who you are.
And ultimately, it's about building a business that doesn't just look like you from the outside.
It feels like you too.
Here's to the next chapter.
